Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg, daughter of international business leader, the late Dr. Anton Rupert, and Ms Huberte Rupert, enjoys international acclaim for her musical career as a mezzo-soprano, Lieder recitalist and distinguished performer of oratorio under her maiden name Hanneli Rupert. She is also acknowledged for her involvement in a diversity of other notable activities.
While being a loving mother and wife, she has always been dedicated to her bigger family as well. She serves as a trustee of five family foundations, supporting and furthering fields that are close to her heart – art, education, social development, nature conservation, the preservation of historical buildings, as well as changing people’s lives through reconciliation and religious enrichment.
Hanneli is the owner of the internationally-awarded La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley and co-owner of the nearby Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards. As a respected team, she and her husband Hein Koegelenberg, CEO of both La Motte and Leopard’s Leap, play an important role in establishing South Africa as a leading force in the world of wine and tourism, while supporting the local community in the fields of job creation, education and personal development.
